In times of disaster, existing social challenges often become more pronounced and may develop into serious problems. To prevent such challenges from emerging or worsening during disasters, it is essential to address them proactively in ordinary times. Simultaneously, it is crucial to handle sensitive medical information with great care, ensuring that its use is based on broad social consensus and trust. This endowed research division is dedicated to tackling these issues by establishing careful yet effective approaches for the use of sensitive information, such as medical data. Building on this foundation, we pursue wide-ranging research on how services should be designed and delivered in real-world settings.
